Adams Pottery was produced by William Adams and Sons of Staffordshire, England. Originally formed in 1769, it because part of the Wedgwood Group in 1966. In the years starting out, Adams focused on recreating models from the Far East. Although earthenware was very durable, it was simply not as strong as ironstone. John Adams decided to invent an ironstone like formula, which was a huge success which took the earthenware market by storm. Because of this, the company then focused on manufacturing white ironstone, pottery and a range of cookware products.
